How to See Who Follows You on Facebook?

While friends are mutual connections, followers can see your public posts without needing to send a friend request. Here’s how to find out who follows you on Facebook, how the follow feature works, and how to manage your follower settings for better privacy and control.

What Are Facebook Followers and How Do They Work

Followers are people who can see your public content in their newsfeed. You automatically follow each other when you become friends, but anyone can follow you if your profile is public and the follow feature is turned on.

Followers don’t need to be your friend — it’s a one-way connection that allows them to stay updated with your public posts.

How to Enable the Follow Feature on Your Facebook Profile

To allow people to follow you:

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. Click “Public Posts” in the sidebar
  3. Under “Who Can Follow Me,” select “Public”

This will enable the follow button on your profile so non-friends can follow your public updates.

Steps to View Your Followers on Desktop and Mobile

On Mobile:

  1. Open the Facebook app
  2. Go to your profile
  3. Tap “See Your About Info”
  4. Scroll down to the “Followers” section

On Desktop:

  1. Visit your profile page
  2. Click the “Friends” tab
  3. Select “Followers” (if visible)

Note: If the list doesn’t show, you may not have public followers yet.

Understanding the Difference Between Friends and Followers

  • Friends: Mutual connection. You both see each other’s posts (based on privacy settings).
  • Followers: One-way connection. They see only your public posts, and you don’t see theirs.
  • Not all friends are followers, especially if someone unfollows you but remains your friend.

Why You Might Not See a Follower List on Your Profile

If you can’t find a follower list:

  • The Follow feature may not be enabled
  • Your profile might be set to “Friends only”
  • You simply may not have any public followers yet

Enable public following and post publicly to build a follower list.

How to Manage Your Follower Privacy Settings

To control your follower visibility:

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Public Posts
  2. Choose who can comment, follow, or see your public activity
  3. Adjust visibility for public post comments, likes, and shares

This helps protect your content while allowing broader reach if desired.

How to Remove or Block Unwanted Followers

While you can’t directly “unfollow” someone from following your public posts, you can:

  • Change the audience of your posts to “Friends only”
  • Block the user: Go to their profile > ••• > Block
  • Restrict content visibility with custom privacy settings

These steps give you full control over who sees what you share.
