Same exact problem. DM’s won’t load yet they load fine on my other two accounts? I’m deleted multiple times and reinstalled logged out even tried to restore my phone. Doesn’t work on another device or the web version either. Really frustrating when you are trying to promote a business and can’t load messages. Right before it stopped working I noticed an extreme lag on that account on group messaging like it wouldn’t load messages from the group dm until several days later. When i get a dm notification from someone on instagram and try to answer using the ‘reply’ option in the notification, those texts don’t send. However, if i go to the dm itself and answer, the text sends just fine. I’ve tried switching to a data connection so it’s not a connection issue. Hello, sometimes the DM highlight gets stuck. However, it gets fixed by itself if you wait for some time. If it doesn’t, try to restart the app.

I’ve had EXACTLY the same problem the entire day where, when you try and message a follower, there are 3 little boxes that says “ Accept message request from …block, delete, except and every time I clicked accept, it ignored my request and kept showing the same screen.
A friend who I’ve not been able to message because of this precise reason, has just a few moments ago posted a My Story. I looked at their my story, sent a simple “ Great “ message to accompany it with at least one word to say I liked it within the my story and my friend liked my reply to it and it instantly lifted the problem. I’m now able to send him message like nothing has been wrong.
Sadly, it’s not solved the problem with my other friends.
I think it will be solved if they post a my story too but I don’t know when that will be.
I hope this helps someone in some way because this is driving me nuts too !!!

I uninstalled the app, closed it down and opened it again. It works the first time I take a picture in the chat but then after a short thread of chats, I’ll try to take the picture again and it doesn’t work.
