How to Add Music to Instagram Story

This feature, which was added by Instagram last year, was highly appreciated by its users. Adding music to the Story section was one of the most effective among the usual updates of Instagram.

Although it is not yet valid in all operating systems and countries, many of these pieces of land worldwide enjoy the privilege of adding music to their Instagram Stories, especially in the USA.

What Is the Music Sticker on Instagram?

Many users don’t know yet how to add music to the Instagram Story. The biggest reason for this lack of information is that it is not active in all countries yet. Therefore, you might find yourselves wondering, “why my friends from overseas have access to this, but I don’t?

Here is how to add music by using the Music Sticker:

  1. Once you have taken your story, tap on the sticker button which looks like a face on a paper.
  2. Select the Music Sticker.
  3. Eather search for a particular song or select one of the recommended songs on the list.

So users are doing this with the help of some additional applications for now. Thus, you have to pray before you sleep as it’s been a long time now, and some countries still don’t have access to this amazing feature.

However, some of these apps should never be trusted by anyone at all. It is up to their pleasure to reach all of your sensitive data and do stuff on your behalf.

Therefore, we suggest users wait for a while for a Music sticker to appear in their country. Otherwise, for us, the risks do not add up to the rewards.

How to Add Music to Your Stories

If you don’t see this feature in the Stories section, there may be two reasons.

  • Either it has not been activated in your country yet,
  • or it does not apply to the operating system of your mobile device.

We’ll ignore these two possibilities, and let’s explain how you can do it:

  1. Open the Instagram app and log in with your credentials.
  2. From the top-left corner of the screen, tap on the plus icon with a circular frame to open your Instagram Stories.
  3. From there, add a new Instagram Story. This can be a video or a regular image; it’s up to you.
  4. Tap on to the sticker icon on the top-right corner of the screen.
  5. Now, start scrolling down and select the Music sticker.
  6. Thereby, you can browse through curations, albums, and genres to find the music you’d like to add to your Stories.
  7. And you did it! Enjoy your music!

3rd Party Apps That Allow You to Use Music

If you want to add music to an Instagram Story using an application, you can find many at the apps market (Android & iOS).

These applications are usually very detailed music apps. You can add, edit, or convert this music to different formats and file sizes.

For this simple process, we don’t know if you need such detailed applications. However, you can use one if you have to. We won’t mind.

If you’ve been Instagram Stories for a while, you won’t struggle with Lomotif: the interface is similar, and it’s facile to add music to your clips. It has a feature similar to Boomerang called Scratch Editor.
Once you’ve added your music, you can upload and share your video on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. The application also allows you to add music to text, filters, and emojis quickly.
You can also search for millions of songs and thousands of artists, or explore various unique themes.
Before using the application, try the methods we described above.

Why Instagram Music Might Not Work?

Didn’t the method we described above work? Do not worry. Every problem has a solution.

This feature may not be active on mobile phones with Android versions. Or it may not support your area (due to a copyright problem, this type of restriction is done).

You can change the user information you use in the App Store or use a VPN and select a different country. Thus, the restriction is eliminated.

Another option is to get support from third-party applications. You can trust these applications and write your Instagram password if it’s not a problem for you.

We’d like to tell you about a very interesting method. If you can’t add story music to Instagram, add music as a video.

Record any music you want to a blank video as a background sound and add the video. It’s a bit of an interesting method, but it works!

Conclusion on Instagram Music

To utilize this amazing feature, at least for now, you have to live in some privileged countries. If you’re from somewhere in which Instagram Music is not active, you can utilize some third-party apps.

However, you can simplify this process even further and use the old and the cool way. Play your music in the background; make sure that it’s banging, then shoot your video. No one’s going to think it’s awkward.

Frequently Asked Questions About

You can use about 10% of any song according to the unofficial “fair use” rule. So if a song is at least 5 minutes, you can safely use 30 seconds of it.

The feature covers songs from Facebook’s partnering music companies all around the world. So you’ll find almost any of your favorite songs.

Instagram will delete videos that violate copyright rules. This does not apply for stories that include songs added with the Instagram Music feature.

You can use any 15 seconds of a song at a time, solely because that’s how long a story can be.

If five seconds isn’t long enough for a photo in your Story, add a song to it to make it last up to 15 seconds — the same time limit as video clips. With the photo open in the Story Editor, tap the sticker button, then the “Music” option.

I lost the music feature a week ago but if I log in to my other account, I can see it. How do I get it back? (Updates all done, Uninstalled, tested on other accounts…its just mine?)

happened to me earlier this week when i updated the iOS and instagram’s latest update.
Same issue. Deleted the app, signed out of the app and logged back in (numerous times) restarted the phone, even went into storage to delete the app and added it back 4 times over the last 3 days, STILL nothing.
Not as fun to me without adding the music, so i’ll probably not use the app for a while and then try it after a couple of weeks.
